Ilmovas
Ilmovas is a Saudi technology company that builds the infrastructure for Arabic scholarly publishing: it turns the manuscript into a structured record, verifies its originality before publication, and makes it machine-readable after it is published — so Arabic research output enters the same path its international counterpart already takes.
Three tools, one path
Scholarly publishing is a path, and each stage has what serves it. We built three tools; each stands on its own, and the three work as one connected infrastructure.
It probes the researcher and the manuscript across Arabic and international publication sources: where they have published, whether this work has prior impact, and whether anything in their record warrants attention — so the editorial board reaches what the manuscript file alone cannot show.

It compares the manuscript against the semantic index of peer-reviewed Arabic research at the level of meaning, and detects proximity that lexical comparison cannot reveal.

Our work does not stop at the tools: we work inside the journal’s own path, alongside its team.
Building the journal on internationally recognised publishing platforms, tuning the peer-review and editorial workflow, and preparing the requirements for submission to indexing databases.
Registering identifiers for articles and authors and linking them to international registries, so every article has a persistent address that can be cited.
Drafting the journal’s policies on publication ethics and handling misconduct, aligned with internationally recognised frameworks, so indexing bodies see that the journal has a written procedure — not improvisation.
Our tools are built on the morphological and semantic properties of Arabic, and on the documentation conventions of its disciplines.
The three tools are developed in-house, so their development follows the client’s need, and what that need requires is built into them.
We operate peer-reviewed scholarly journals on the recognised international platforms, and we know the editorial path from inside it. The tools were built to close the gaps we saw there.
Our tools are built to be deployed inside the institution or within its national hosting domain. Manuscripts remain in their owner’s custody, and what is built on them remains among their assets.
